I don;t think Ryne is afraid of the dark at all. Ryne just wants top be sure, that if his Papa comes to see him, that the light will be on so Papa won't have any trouble finding him.

Quinn and Piper have both gone through this--very similarly, seemingly overnight. We installed extra night-lights and have recently moved them into one room because Piper had been coming into our room anywhere between midnight and 3am to finish out the night. She said she heard a sound, she calls it "Swiper." Whatever it is must sound like Swiper the Fox. I think for Quinn it was vampires, though I'm not sure where she picked it up.

Kelly gave my girls these awesome "lava" lamps that you can probably still find at K-mart. They are like fake aquariums and give off a lot of light and a pretty steady hum that is soothing.

I was afraid of the dark as a kid. I think kids see the negative space. Things are less concrete in the dark. Their budding imagination probably finds it hard to sort out. In the light, everything is in it's place and we no longer focus on the weight of the negative space. I'm not sure if I'm explaining this well at all. The dark felt heavy and unknown to me as a kid, and still can even today. Sweet boy. How great is it though that he was able to pinpoint the problem and fix it himself. He wasn't paralyzed by fear into inaction. He knew what he needed and went for it! Sweet dreams Ryne!

Even before twitter, I already felt like I knew you because of Michael. He would talk about you and the girls when my wife and I went through his FPU class at First Baptist. We appreciate the prayers so much. It's helped us maintain some sanity through all this.

My goodness. I was in shock when I read your tweets that day. It's amazing how Twitter can connect people. I mean, I feel like we are friends and it was all I could do not to drive to the hospital that day. Imagine how weird that would have been! :) "Hi. I'm @sjedwards." I have prayed for Ryne like I pray for my own children and I rejoice with every step he makes toward a complete recovery. I don't know your wife at all but, from one mama to another, give her a big hug from me.

Good God, man. You have been in my thoughts more than you know. Thanks for the update. Can't imagine and don't want to imagine it. I've dealt with families that have lost babies in the storms but this hits closer to home, I guess, since I know you so well. Give him a hug for us.

That is how Josh and I potty trained Bella. It is exactly how I plan to train Kohen in any area that it will work! It sticks too because any time we clap, Bella wags her tail with a look of pride on her face.

My wife Jen works with developmentally disabled babies so we obsessed over Connor's development. He didn't walk until he was 18-19 months old and he's perfect- a little too smart for his own good you might say. We worried ourselves sick and he ended up fine. If you have any questions send me a message on facebook.

I'm not that worried. I know he'll do it all whenever he's ready to do it. I just find it interesting that it piques my competitive spirit so much.

There is a lot of variation. Even in my family, I seem to remember that Kaydee walked a couple of months before CJ did. That said, if you are worried about it ask your pediatrician. Ours has always been great about telling us what is ok deviation from 'average' versus when to be concerned.
