Welcome to The Brand New Dad!

Congratulations! You just found out that you’re going to be a father.

What a wave of emotions, right? You’re excited, and nervous, and anxious, and all the feelings all at the same time. I 100% understand what you’re feeling, and where your head is at.

Let me give you a quick introduction to me, where I’m at, and why I decided to start this project.

I’m 32 years old, married, one kid on the way, never thought I would be here, and could not be more excited.

I’ve been married for a few years now. My wife and I wanted to hold off on having children for a little while, and just enjoy us. We’ve faced our financial battles during that time, but we sat down and talked about children. We decided that the perfect time will never happen, and that we will always be okay. So after 2+ years and a couple of conversations, we decided to give it a shot.

A few months later, we found out that our life would change forever! My wife surprised me with the positive test, and a little note that she wrote for me. Tears flooded my face, we grabbed each other tight, and just embraced each other while soaking in the moment. As soon as the moment passed, the overwhelming amount of questions and emotions came over me:

“will I be a good dad?”

“how will we afford everything?”

“what type of parent do i want to be?”

And SO many more. It’s a huge life change, and having all the emotions and different questions float through your head are completely understandable.

Now, we’re 10 weeks away from our little one joining us, and we could not be more excited.

Why I Decided To Start A Blog For New Dads

I started this for a couple different reasons.

  1. The first being that I wanted to document my journey. I know that most guys out there go through a lot of similar emotions and struggles.
  2. I wanted to create a place where men can go to find answer to certain questions they are having. Looking for reviews on certain products? Insights on how to do certain things? Thinking you’re alone with certain thoughts? That’s what I want to help provide.
  3. A place to create memories! I’m documenting the journey, and everything I learn, but at the same time, I’m growing and learning and shaping into a better version of myself. I’m a big fan of being able to have a documented journey to be able to look back and see how I have grown over time.

That’s all for now. We’re just getting started!
